Where To Start with Apps and More

Sperm Count Tests Can Now Happen In Your Smartphone Through An App

Have you been trying to conceive for a while but has not just happened yet? Your wife even bought an ovulation predictor kit. You also tried purchasing a sperm count kit–however, it is a product made only to count the sperm and not how well they move. Luckily, a certain kit is now available in the U.S. market and this comes with the capability to not only count sperm but see as well how they swim.

In this kit, you will be provided with a product that comes with an app and a mini-microscope “clip” that is placed at the top your phone to access the device’s light, focus and recording capabilities. The process is very easy: you prepare a sample on the slide (sort of like the one you did in high school biology class), stick it into the clip, and within just two minutes you will see the moving sperm on your phone’s screen. After another minute, the test results will show up. While waiting, you can entertain yourself by answering some cheeky “sperm trivia” to lighten the mood. You don’t have to worry about missing out because the video and results will be recorded in the app. To make this product accurate, extensive training for over four years have been made, as detailed by Marcia Deutsch, CEO of Medical Electronic Systems. Deutsch also said that the technology is capable of reading sperm sample 99 percent of the time, as long as you follow the instructions correctly. If it is able to read the results, they are more than 97 percent accurate based on FDA studies of 316 participants of the study.

Those who will use the technology will not get actual values as a result though because it’s an over-the-counter product, thus, it can only give a reading of “low” or “moderate/normal” based on World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for sperm motility and concentration. Users can expect a test reporting a composite of the two parameters referred to as the “motile sperm concentration,” or the number of moving sperm.
Finding Similarities Between Technology and Life

The home test is just the first step to finding out whether you have fertility issue or not. So if your results come back low, do not panic yet; go to a fertility clinic to confirm the results. There is one more thing that you need to check on too–morphology, which is how many normally shaped sperm there are. A doctor can help you on this. Now, if you have already done all the home tests and they returned normal, see a doctor if you still have not conceived in one year, or six months if you are aged over 35.What Do You Know About Resources
